Dawn and Dusk (The Animals), 2025
A gathering of items from the Frank Williams Collection, The Oaks, pedestals and platforms, light, and artworks by the artists represented in the collection
Organized by curator Rachael Arouz

This multi-part artwork was created over the the course of a year at the Frank Williams Collection during while Rotzel was experiencing a prolonged period of sensitivity to visual information. Incorporating the grounds and the art inside the residence, The Animals grew from a desire to see, draw, and reconfigure aspects of the collection, deepening Rotzel’s core practice as both an artist and curator. An accompanying choreographed work is intended to be viewed privately in small groups at dawn and dusk. The controlled encounter takes place in a setting and time that feels apart from the artists daily life, and is meant to invite others to experience something similar.
