This solo exhibition presents a recent set of Meg Rotzel’s ink drawings paired with sculptural work in ceramics. Rendered in clay are repetitive, abstracted forms that refer to language, time, and natural processes. This imagery is echoed in the ink drawings developed with and from the sculptural work. Rotzel shapes her accumulating tableaus using simple materials that are made from the world: clay, paper, and pigment. This body of work, scaled to the tabletop, is a deep material exploration of temporality, language and seeing.
